Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat Betting Preview [17.1.20]

After a washout in Sydney on Thursday, the Big Bash returns with an earlier game – Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat. This is an interesting looking game with the two teams only 1 point apart in the league after nine games each. We have been impressed with Brisbane Heat recently and they look to becoming strong at the right time after a slow start. Despite the early start, this is the only game in the Big Bash today – There are doubleheaders over the weekend and we will have previews of them on the site shortly.

Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat – Latest Odds & Form

Brisbane Heat goes into this game as a reasonably priced favourite. This is a delicately balanced market with the Strikers having home advantage but Brisbane Heat being in the better form. This looks a close one to call!

Odds from 10 cric

To win the match odds*

  • Adelaide Strikers 11/10
  • Brisbane Heat 4/6

When these two played earlier in the tournament, Brisbane Heat won comfortably chasing down 110 in 15.2 overs on Tuesday. This is the return leg of that match so to speak. For us, that match sums up the Strikers, they failed to put on a decent score and then just didn’t take enough wickets.

Strikers form

In the last seven matches, the Strikers have just one win – against the terrible Melbourne Renegades! This shows how poorly they have played at times. Prior to that that they had started the tournament well clocking up three wins and one no result in the first four matches. They are still the only team to beat the Melbourne Stats this year after the experienced Peter Siddle got figures of 3/24 against them. Siddle is probably the best bet for the top team bowler for the Strikers in this match.

With the bat, their problem has been dropping wickets. In their last five, they have been all-out twice and dropped six wickets twice too. This has just not been good enough from them and this is why they have struggled. They have been okay with the ball but have lacked a decent total to push the opposition.

Heat form

Brisbane Heat is the opposite of the Strikers, they started slowly and now have some form about them. They have won 4 of the last 5 matches in the Big Bash League and have been excellent in those games. The game they lost was to the resurgent Scorchers who hit a very impressive 213 from 20, the in-form Mitchell Marsh doing the damage there.

They have been as good chasing as they have been batting first which we think is always the sign of a good team. The only concerning thing is the dip in form of Chris Lynn, who has failed to get past 14 in the last 3 innings, including one duck. We all know his class though and would not be surprised if he bounced back to form here. He still leads the Man of the Match betting!

Strikers v Heat – BBL Betting Tips

Just two tips today!

Betting predictions for Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat BBL 17-1-20

Tip 1 – 22bet – Brisbane Heat to win 4/6

You cannot ignore the current form of Brisbane Heat and the comprehensive way they dispatched the Strikers last match. The odds are odds on but we are happy to take 4/6 odds on the team in the form to win here.

We’re happy to back this one before the bat flip as Brisbane Heat has been strong recently regardless of when they have batted.

Tip 2 – Betway BetYourWay  – Khan and Pattinson both to take a wicket each

This looks an excellent prospect at the price quoted on the bet your way market. For this to win we need them both to take at least one wicket in the match.

Current performance

  • Khan – 9 innings, 15 wickets
  • Pattinson – 2 innings, 5 wickets
