MI v KKR Betting Tips

We are looking at Betway for our tips today as we enjoy their #BetYourWay markets. You can find them here, just select betyourway from the match list.

Tip 1 – Who will win the match? Knight Riders 6/5

We are making a big out here that this is the game that the Knight Riders will get a win over the Indians. The odds of 8/13 are way too low for us to back on the Indians in the IPL. We saw, yesterday, the Royal Challengers lose to KXIP at the same odds and we think this is too low at this stage in the tournament.

Statistically, it is rare for teams in the IPL to win five matches in a row in the group’s stages and this has only been done a handful of times across the years. The Mumbai Indians look comfortable near the top with no real danger of missing qualification. The Knight Riders on the other hand have everything to play for. They have a great chance to put 4 points between themselves in 4th and the Sunrsiers in 5th. With a win, we can see gap starting to open here and teams in the bottom half would know they need a surge to get close to qualification.

The form of KKR can be considered a little up and down. In their last 5 matches, they have 3 wins and 2 defeats. They lost last time out to the impressive RCB and then before that to the Delhi Capitals.

In the first game of the IPL2020 for them, they lost to today’s opponents by 49 runs. That was the first game for the Knight Riders but not for the Indians who had already played. KKr looked a little rust and it was a slow start from them to the tournament. They then went on to take back to back wins over SRH an RR. Both of these were very comfortable wins, one with 2 overs to spare and one by 37 runs – a match which was never even close.

There have been some good wins recently too with a 10 run victory over CSK followed by another win over the lowly KXIP.

KKR top performing players

Batsmen

  1. S Gill 254
  2. E Morgan 175
  3. N Rana 150
  4. R Tripathi 137
  5. D Karthik 108

Bowlers

  1. A Russell 6
  2. V Chakravarthy 5
  3. S Narine 5
  4. S Mavi 5
  5. P Krishna 4
  6. K Nagarkoti 4

With the ball, they have struggled for a standout performer. Russell has been the best player but is still only 23rd in the wicket-takers so far. Their big buy at this ears auction, Pat Cummings, hasn’t really lived up to any expectations and only has 2 wickets at an economy of 8.53. We would expect better from a player that cost 11 Crore.

Tip 2 – Over 11.5 sixes and 12.5 wickets in the match 11/5

This looks a good value bet based on the teams. They are all capable of hitting some big runs and the Indians will most likely take some wickets. This is a bet that is specific to Betway and can be found in their #BetYourWay markets.

Tip 3 – KKR win, Gill 25+ runs & Morgan 1+ six 4/1

The odds for this bet caught my eye and I like the look of the 4/1 odds. Gill is capable of getting 25+ runs and Morgan 1+ sixes.
