Thursday’s game sees the Kings XI take on the Indians with the Indians as the strong favourites to win the match. The Mumbai Indians were the favourites at the start of the tournament but have failed to really get going so far. They have clocked up just one win from three and have been underwhelming. The Kings XI Punjab also have one win from three and were unlucky, or bowled badly, to lose last time out after posting a score of 223.

Kings XI Punjab form
Well the last Kings XI Punjab game was an absolute mega match. We could not believe that they didn’t win after setting a score of 224 to win the match. The Kings batsman was in amazing form with KL Rahul, 69, and Agarwal, 106, looking like they may bat the whole innings at one stage.
After their wickets, Maxwell and Pooran did a good job of finishing the innings off with 13 & 25 respectively. This looked an almost impossible score to chase down, even though it looked a good batting wicket.
With the ball, the Kings XI took wickets but could not keep the run rate and the number of sixes down. Samson & Tewatia hit seven each and Jofra Archer managed two off three balls. This will have been a massive disappointment for the team but there are many positives to take from the batting performance to give them enough hope against the Mumbai Indians.
In the previous game, their only win so far, they were very impressive against the Royal Challengers. They set an excellent score of 206/3 and went on to win by 97 runs after a very impressive bowling performance.
We have been impressed with them all round and they have shown enough to see that they can beat the Indians in the game.
Mohamed Shami is the joint top wicket-taker so far this year. KL Rahul is the top overall batsman with 222 runs and Mayank Agarwal is second overall with 221 runs. If these two perform again at the top of the order we could see them running up another 200+ score.
Top batsman so far – KL Rahul 222
Top bowler so far – Mohamed Shami
Mumbai Indians form
The Mumbai Indians have been, in our opinion, a little disappointing. They have a clear trend of not performing the year after they win the IPL and that looks set to continue in 2020. In their last game, they lost to RCB in a super over.
RCB batted first and set them 202 for the win. With the ball, Boult took two wickets and Chahar took one. Jasprit Bumrah was a little off his usual form with 0/42 from his four overs. The only low scorer for RCB was, again, captain Virat Kohli who was out for 3. It was AB de Villers, 55 from 24 balls, and Shivam Dube, 27 off 10 balls, that did the damage late on for RCB. With some better bowling and wickets, the score should have been kept to around 180, which look about right for the pitch.
In the run chase the Indians started poorly losing Sharma for 8, de Kock for 14 and Yadav for a duck – not what we expect from those three. Ishan Kishan top-scored with 99 from 58 and was well supported by the explosive Kieron Pollard who smashed 60 from 24 balls, including 5 sixes.
The game then went to a super over. Set 14 to run the Indians only managed 7/1 from their 6 balls.
Top batsman so far – Rohit Sharma 100
Top bowler so far – Trent Boult 5

Mixed bag here with runs being shared across the team. Lynn has yet to recreate his Big Bash form. Quinton de Kock looks the most interesting from the odds. Still not enough for us to back him here though.

Betting Tips
We have selected 2 bets for today’s game.
Tip 1 – 22bet – KXIP to win the match 1/1
With a little bit more luck the kings’ XI could be sat at the top of the table now. They have lost on a super over and lost despite hitting 223. Odds of evens here are too good to turn down with KL Rahul and Argawal in top form so far.
Tip 2 – 22bet Chris Gayle most sixes in the match 6/1
Gayle has been quiet by his own standard so far but we know what he is capable of. This groud looks like it will suit his game and his big-hitting.
Just 2 tips for us today, we usually have 3 but there’s nothing else that really grabs us here from a value perspective.
