Latest Odds and Form
To win the match odds*
- Kolkata Knight Riders 2.00
- Mumbai Indians 1.80
Although the Mumbai Indians are strong favourites for the tournament, the bookmakers are really confident the Kolkata Knight Raiders can push them all the way in this match. The odds are close and so the Indians will need to be on top of their game to overcome what will undoubtedly be a tough test.
Kolkata Knight Raiders Form
There was much promise in 2019 for the Kolkata Raiders. They were widely tipped to achieve at least the playoffs. They ultimately petered out and finished 5th having won 6 and losing 8 of their IPL matches. The raiders will again look to Andre Russell who is quite honestly one of the world’s best at T20 cricket. The Jamaican bowler will always be around the wickets and can prove very influential in the closing stages of an innings. Russell is also very handy with the bat in hand. Quite simply if he’s in the mood he will cause the Mumbai Indians all sorts of problems.
Last year’s IPL saw Kolkata have a superb start. It was very disappointing to see their form disappear however captain Dinesh Karthik will almost certainly demand more from his team. Kolkata had some very impressive results against the likes of RCB and KXIP.
Head to Head
The results from the IPL 2019 between these two sides were;
28th April 2019 Kolkata 232/2 (20 overs), Mumbai 198/7 (20 overs) Kolkata won by 34 runs
5th May 2019 Kolkata 133/7 (20 overs) Mumbai 134/1 (16.1 overs) Mumbai won by 9 wickets
Mumbai Indians Form
Last year’s champions will once again be a hard team to beat. Mumbai has an incredible pedigree in the IPL and Captain Rohit Sharma will demand nothing more than excellence from his team.
Mumbai has a superb mix of solid batting and economic bowling, which by any standards is a perfect recipe for success. Quentin de Kock will once again prove to be one of the players of the tournament.
Mumbai, however, lost their opening IPL 2020 game to CSK at the Sheik Sayed stadium. This will not have gone down well and is not the kind of result of potential champions. It is quite possible that Kolkata can capitalize on this.

Kolkata Batsmen latest odds
Tom Banton 4.50
Andre Russell 4.75
Eoin Morgan 4.75
Nitish Rana 4.75
Shubman Gill 4.75
Kolkata’s batting lineup is full of talent. There are some incredible T20 players here, some of which have shown great form over the summer. Morgan is always seen to be a sure bet to do well, whilst Russell and Banton will surely score well.
Mumbai Batsmen latest odds
Rohit Sharma 3.20
Quentin de Kock 3.50
Chris Lynn 3.60
Suryakumar Yadav 5.00
Anmolpreet Singh 7.00
Rohit Sharma has been looking incredible in practice. Unfortunately, he only scored 12 runs in this year’s IPL opener against CSK. He will certainly be looking to make amends. Quentin de Kock scored an impressive 33 of 20 balls before finally succumbing to Sam Curran’s masterclass of bowling.

Betting Tips
Tip 1 – Rohit Sharma Total fours over 2.5 (odds 1.90) – Betway
Sharma will almost certainly be looking to better his performance in the Indian’s second match. He knocked a couple of fours against CSK and we expect better against Kolkata.
Tip 2 – Player to hot the most sixes Eoin Morgan (odds 7.50) – Betway
He’s looking sharp and is more than capable. Perhaps a bit of an outside bet however we think a low stake can yield a decent return should this bet come in.
Tip 3 – Highest individual score under 63.5 (odds 1.83) – Bet365
Any batsman getting over 63.5 in T20 cricket does extremely well. We think this match will be a tight affair with possibly one or two outstanding performers. With these odds, we believe it’s well worth looking into this market.
