We were a little surprised to see the Sunrisers at odds on as we were expecting to have both of the teams at very similar odds.

On Wednesday KKR kicked off their IPL 2020 campaign with a poor performance against the favourites, Mumbai Indians. The Indians went into bat first and an inspired Rohit Sharma hit 80 from 54 balls. (Full match stats for KKR v MI here).
He was well supported by Yadav, with 47, and the next 3 batsmen in all got to double figures with some quick-fire runs. The Indians finished on 195/5 from their 20 over. Shivam Mavi was the pick of the KKR bowlers with 2 wickets, Narine also performed well with 1 wicket and a 5.5 economy.
In reply, KKR never really got going. A steady flow of wickets stopped anyone building a score. They finished on 146/9. The 33 from Cummings from 12 balls towards the end was the only thing that made that score even close to being respectable.

SRH also kicked off their campaign with a loss, to Chennai Super Kings. It was the excellence of Chahal that caused them all the problems!
The Challengers batted first and put on a reasonable 163/5. They gained suns at a respectable rate and lost a few wickets. No player really had an explosive inning but the wickets did not come quickly enough. Of the five wickets, two were run-outs with no bowler taking more than one wicket.
With the bat, the Sunrsiers started well and we thought they looked comfortable heading towards a win. Warner was out early but Bairstow – 61 & Pandey – 34, set them well on their way. Then came the collapse! The last 7 players at the crease all failed to get to double figures and had two ducks. Chahal finished with 3/18 from his 4 overs – impressive stats.

I know they are not the favourites but I feel I’ve seen enough from them to get the win here. I am hoping to see Tom Banton return to the lineup. A player who really is a rising star of T20 cricket around the world.

We will be waiting to see the line ups before backing this bet. We want to be sure Banton is playing first! What a player and what odds. Banton lit up the Big Bash League in Australia then had a good summer with the England team. We are expecting him to shine on the UAE pitches.
