India v West Indies T20 Betting Tips

India takes on the West Indies in a 3 match T20 series and it looks set to be an interesting battle. We are expecting India to win the series but the Windies are capable of fireworks in the T20’s as we know. T20 is our favourite form of the game and this series is perfect for having some fun betting in our opinion.

We have a lot of betting markets to pick from and we will be having 3 picks for each of the T20s. We’ll also be looking back at the recent stats of the two teams to find some value for our picks too.

India v West Indies Preview

The first of the T20s starts on the 6th of December. We have found over 50 markets for the match but no one offering betting over the series.

Here are the latest odds for the thirds T20 from Betway India*

  • India 1/3
  • West Indies 2/1

*Correct at time of writing 10/12/19 – subject to change.

It is no surprise to see India as the strong favourites for the match and the 1/3 odds are too low for us to back. We also don’t want to back a West Indies win at those odds either so we will look to the other markets for our tips again for this test.

India v West Indies Tips

We are going to start with our favourite #Betyourway tips. These are selections from the match that are priced up by Betway.  To find these markets head to Betway and then to the match. At the top of the markets list, there is a tab to “#BetYourWay’.

#Betyourway Tips

Tip 1 – Chahal & Cottrell to both take over 0.5 wickets 10/11

This tip landed in the first T20 but would not have landed in the second T20 (where we did not tip it). We are happy to go back for it at 10/11 odds again this time.

Tip 1 - India v Windies T20 (1)

For this bet to win both players need to take just 1 wicket which should be achievable for them both. At 10/11 (above even money) this is our top value bet for the first T20.

Chahal has taken 50 wickets in 683 balls at T20 international level which is an impressive record.

Cottrell has 37 wickets in 384 balls at T20 international level, this is also an excellent record.

If you want an extra boost on this tip you can make it both to get over 1.5 wickets and the odds increase to 100/30

Tip 2 – Kohli top team batsman and Cottrell top team bowler 11/1

This one looks great value for a T20 match. Kohli has been in fine form and will want to ensure another top performance from his team. The top bowler is harder to call with a mix of wicket-takers in the team. At 11.1 we are happy to take our chances on Cottrell as the top bowler. If you just want to take Kohli at the top batsman then the odds are 2/1.

Standard tips

These come from the standard markets and are offered by almost all cricket betting sites. We’ve added which bookmaker has the best odds* for these bets so you can make sure you are getting the maximum possible returns on your bets.

Tip 3 – Kohli to hit a six 6/4

For this to win we just need Kohli to score at least 1 six in his innings. We think these odds are very generous!

India v West Indies Stats

Here we will cover the recent results and scores for both teams.

The two teams met in a 3 match T20 series in August which saw India run out with a 3-0 win – 1 courtesy of the D/L method.

India batted first in one of the matches where we knocked up an impressive 167/5. The other games saw us win by 1 balls & 7 balls respectively. We scored an average of 138 runs and took an average of 6.3 wickets per match. We would think these average would be big enough to see off the West Indies again.

India T20 recent results

  • 98/4 Lost by 22 runs (D/L)
  • 95/9 Lost by 4 wickets, 16 balls remaining

the West Indies form has been poor really and that’s no surprise to see India at odds on to win. In their last 6 T20 international matches they have won just 1 against Afghanistan who is above them in 8th in the world rankings.

India sits 5th currently just 10 points from 1st place where the West Indies are in 10th some 37 points behind us.

Stats and rating are all pointing towards an India win!
