With the series already won England can become the number 1 international T20 team in the world with another win. It is already 2-0 after an emphatic batting performance from England opener Jos Buttler. This was the second time in 11 matches that Buttler has kept his wicket as an opener, a truly impressive performance.
For this game, England will be without Buttler as he leaves the bubble to spend time with his family. England is currently on a run of 9 wins from 10 over Australia in whore ball cricket and this looks like it could be another win in that run. We will look over the form and try and find some value in the betting markets.
The weather at the Ageas Bowl looks as though it will not affect the game.

England v Australia 3rd T20 – Latest Odds & Form
Despite their form so far England are only slight favourites for this game. The bookies must be considering the loss of Jos Buttler in their odds!
Odds from 10Cric India*
To win the match odds*
- England 4/5
- Australia 10/11
Whilst they are 2-0 up we are not expecting England to slow off here. The opportunity to take the number 1 spot in the world should be enough of a driver for them.
England form
England is heading towards becoming the best team in white-ball cricket, their strength in depth is quite something. The T20 game has really shown to be an excellent form of the game for England. They have recently drawn a T20 series with Pakistan following a game being called off for the rain. Prior to that, they had a solid 2-1 series win over South Africa.
You have to go back to July 2018 for the last time England lost a T20 series. That was a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the mightly Indian team.
Some of their players may have one eye on the IPL where 29 players from England and Australia are heading. Stokes and Buttler are both missing from this game but playing in the IPL along with Jofra Archer.
Head to head
As mentioned above, in white-ball cricket England has won 9 of the last 10 against Australia. We would expect to see England at a shorter price than they are currently.
Australia form
If we look past this series we can see that Australia’s form has been reasonable. In their most recent T20 series, against South Africa, they had a 2-1 win. This included 2 emphatic wins with one by 107 runs and one by 97 runs. That is quite an achievement in international T20 cricket!
Prior to that, the last series was a 2-1 defeat to India while on tour here in an ODI series. After India clocked up 255 all out from 49.1 overs it looked like the game was going to be a close one. Then Warner and finch smashed 258/0 to win the match – incredible. India then went on to win the next two to take the series.

England Batsmen latest odds

- Dawid Malan 11/5
- Tom Banton 11/4
- Joe Denly 3/1

The market is a little more open without Roy and Buttler. After his excellent performances in the Big Bash, it is no surprise to see Banton up in the betting. We know from watching him that he has an explosive batting performance in his locker.

England v Australia 3rd T20 Betting Tips
2 tips for this match!
Tip 1 – Betway – To hit a 6 – Stoinis 4/7, Finch 4/7 & Banton 4/6*
I could not choose between these 3 so I will be covering all of them. I have watched a lot of their performances from the Big Bash last year and they are all big hitters. The only thing that surprises me about this is that Stonis is batting at number 5 compared to opening in the Big Bash. His performances there was incredible and if Australia has any sense they will get him further up the batting order for this one.
Tip 2 – 10 Cric – Stoinis top batsman 14/1*
This is for the top batsman in the match and not the top team batsman.
I have a feeling that Stoinis will start higher up the order for this match. Australia really needs to get a win to restore some pride and were not far away in the last game. Stonis came in and scored a solid 36 and there could be a temptation to move him up the order for this one. At odds of 14/1 this looks well worth a bet to us.
