The second game of today’s doubleheader sees Dehli Capitals take on Kolkata Knight Riders. Both the capitals and the Knight Riders sit on two wins and one defeat and are second and third respectively at the time of writing. After the first game is finished our attentions will turn to this game which looks to be an interesting battle between the two sides.

Capitals lead the betting at 4/5 with most bookies. These prices seem to be around what we would expect from what we have seen so far and the two squads.
DC v KKR Betting Tips
Tip 1 – Knight Riders to win the match 1/1*
The Knight Riders have impressed the team at Cricketics so far this IPL. We have all been impressed with the performances they have put in and are happy to back them to beat the Capitals at even money.
The opened their IPL account with a 49 run loss to the Mumbai Indians, no shame there. This was a strange game with the usually reliable Pat Cummings going for 49 off three overs – bizarre! With the bat, they never really got going chasing 196 for the win and ended up on 146/9. This was their most uninspiring performance so far.
In their next game, against the Sunrisers, they performed a lot better. Cummings was back in his stride getting 19/1 from his four overs – much more in line with what we expect from him. The team bowled well as a unit not giving the Sunrisers any opportunities to get a decent score on the board. The set 143 to win, which always looked like it should be comfortable for KKR. Opener Gill carried his bat to get 70 and was supported by Rana, 26, and Morgan 42. The in was secured with 2 overs to spare.
Next up was the Royals who had smashed 226 in their previous match. KKR batted first and got themselves into a strong position. Some excellent bowling from the Royals let them setting 175 to win. After their previous result, everyone expected them to chase down 176 with ease!
KKR then stepped up with an excellent bowling performance to get the win. Cummings was again on form with 1/13 from three overs. All the bowlers took wickets through the innings to leave the Royals 37 runs short at the end of their 20 overs.
This gives us a good view of the Knight Riders form and it looks string going into this match. The bowlers are all playing well and Cummings is being very economical. With the bat, KKR has a good line up with explosive players like Morgan & Russell alongside more steady players. We are yet to even see Englishman Tom Banton make a start for them but he could come in as an opener here potentially.
The Capitals started the tournament with two wins. It was their last performance that was cause for concern as they looked off the pace all game. They elected to bowl first and the Sunrisers set them a reasonable 163 for the win. With two wins so far and the firepower, they have in the team that looked very reachable for the Capitals.
The Capitals just never got going in the match with the bat. Only one player got over 30 and they could just not build a score or get the run rate going. In the end, they finished with 147/7 and lost the match by 15 runs.
Tip 2 – Eoin Morgan top KKR Batsman 4/1
Morgan has played well so far and although he comes in further down the order the 4/1 odds look good value to us here. He is a player who can play a steady inning if the wickets have fallen or an explosive one if he’s in for the last few overs.
The main thing about him it that he always keeps the run rate going. He understands T20 cricket perfectly and knows what type of innings is expected from him and plays to his strengths.
Tip 3 – Under 374.5 total runs in the match
This line is set high at 374 for these two teams. This market is the total runs in the match combining the score of both teams.
All three of the Dehli Capitals matches so far have been under this score. All three Knight Riders have been under this score although both teams have been very close to the total amount.
