CSK v RCB Preview 10-10-20

It’s 5th v 6th in the table in the second of Saturdays IPL matches. This is an intriguing battle between Kohli’s Royal Challengers and the Super Kings. Kohli’s men will have to take on the in-form Faf du Plessis who is having the best IPL of his career so far. He is second in the total runs, just 14 behind leader KL Rahul. If he hits his stride again then this could be a comfortable one for the Super Kings.

The form of captain Virat Kohli has been the big news of the 2020 IPL. He was expected to come in at his peak and show the world his capabilities but at the start seemed to struggle under that expectancy. He has finally found some form with a good 43 last match following on from 73 not out to win the previous game. He needs to continue with that level of run-scoring if RCB has any chance of making the knock out stages of the tournament.

In our preview, we will cover the team’s recent form and the latest stats and try and pick some winning betting tips!

CSK v RCB Latest Odds

Latest odds from Betway India

  • Chennai Super Kings 19/20
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore 4/5

These odds are one step away from an even game and that is what we were expecting. There’s not much to call between the two teams. RCB have one more win but have the worst net run rate from all the teams.

CSK v RCB Betting Tips

We have looked over the stats and form to bring you our top betting tips for this match.

Tip 1 – Who will win the match? Chennai Super Kings 19/20

This is a very close one to call and we have been split with who will win it. For us, the Super Kings just have the edge over the Royal Challengers.

What is strange is that CSK has batted second in every game so far, they are yet to post a score to chase. This means they’ve always had a target to go after and not had the chance to try and post a big score. This could have impacted their gameplay. Their most recent win came over the Kings XI Punjab where they chased 179 to win and won the match by 10 wickets in 17.4 overs.

This was the batting performance of the tournament for us, it is not very often in T20 that you see two players carry their bat to chase such a score. Watson finished on 83 from 53 balls and du Plessis 87 also from 53 balls. This shows the potential they have with the bat if they can get going.

The RCB form is a little deceiving when we look beneath the results. They have managed to get three wins so far, one of which came from a super over against the Mumbai Indians which could have gone either way. Other than that they have only beaten the lowly Sunrisers and the Rajasthan Royals. They got absolutely stuffed by the bottom team, KXIP when they were all out for 109 chasings 207.

This gives us the belief that the quality of the Super Kings will come through over the 20 overs here.

Tip 2 – To be top CSK batsman Du Plessis 2/1 & Watson 9/4

Here are the Latest CSK batting figures

  1. de Plessis 299
  2. Watson 185
  3. Rayudu 109
  4. Dhoni 102
  5. Jadeja 94
  6. Curran 68
  7. Jadhav 58
  8. Vijay 32

We are backing 2 players in this market as they are both by far the leaders for the team. If we back both we will return a profit if either of them is the top batsman for the Super Kings. They are the 2 most likely candidates.

Tip 3 – To be top RCB batsman – Padikkal 4/1

Here are the latest RCB batting figures

  1. Padikkal 178
  2. AB 155
  3. Kohli 133
  4. Finch 122
  5. Dube 57
  6. Sundar 47
  7. Saini 18

What great value for the current highest run-scorer to be the top batsman at 4/1. There is a quality in the top order of RCB but Padikkal is the standout a bet from a value perspective in this form.
